How to choose a reliable airport transfer company

Reviews, licences, insurance, pricing and flight tracking: what to check before you trust a company with your airport journey.

After a long flight, the last thing you want is to be left waiting or argue about the fare. A little checking before you book makes that much less likely.

Look at independent reviews

Testimonials on a company's own site are chosen by the company. Look at Google reviews, TripAdvisor or Trustpilot as well. Read what people actually say rather than just the star rating, and look for repeated comments on punctuality, clean cars and how the company handled a delayed flight.

Check licensing and insurance

In England, private hire operators and their drivers and vehicles should be licensed by a local council. Ask which council licensed the company and whether the car is insured for private hire. A reputable company will tell you without fuss.

Understand the price

  • Is the price fixed when you book, or does it depend on a meter?
  • Are tolls, parking, waiting time and luggage included?
  • Are there night, weekend or surge charges?
  • How do you pay, and when?

Ask about flight tracking

If your flight lands early or late, will the driver still be there? A company that tracks flights adjusts the pickup for you and does not charge extra for a delay within the waiting time.

Consider the extras

Meet and greet in arrivals, child seats, space for luggage and cars for larger groups all make a difference. Check that the company can offer what your party needs.

Book early

Booking ahead lets you compare calmly and locks in the price. If you would like to see how we do it, book online and the fixed price appears before you confirm. We operate 24 hours a day.
