Manchester Airport Terminal 3 drop-off: a simple guide for 2026
Terminal 3 is the Ryanair terminal.
Terminal guide
Since Terminal 1 closed in March 2026, Manchester runs from two terminals. Terminal 3 is the smaller one and is mainly used by Ryanair. Drop-off is quick when you know the layout, and with a pre-booked car you do not have to think about any of it.
Terminal 3 drop-off at a glance
A simple diagram, not to scale. Roads and zones can move while the terminal is being expanded, so follow the signs.
- Drop-off
Terminal 3 drop-off zone
Your driver pulls into the short-stay drop-off zone close to the entrance, helps unload your bags and you walk straight in. It usually takes a couple of minutes.

Paying for the zone
The airport charges cars to use its drop-off zones. With FindCab, we tell you before you book if any charge applies, so nothing is added on the day.

Free drop-off (JetParks 1)
Friends dropping you off in their own car can use the free drop-off area further out and take the shuttle bus to the terminal. Allow extra time for this.

Check-in and bag drop
Go inside and follow the signs for your airline. Ryanair passengers should check bag drop closing times in the app.

Walkway to Terminal 2 and The Station
Terminals 2 and 3 are close and linked on foot, with the rail and tram station nearby. If you are unsure of your terminal, there is time to walk across.

Step by step
- Check your terminal in your airline app the day before. Ryanair uses Terminal 3; most other airlines use Terminal 2.
- Keep passports and boarding passes in a bag on your lap, not in the boot.
- Your driver follows the road signs for Terminal 3 drop-off and stops in the zone.
- Grab your bags, say goodbye and head for bag drop. That is it.

How early should I be dropped off?
Work back from when bag drop closes, not from take-off. Many airlines suggest around two hours before a short-haul flight, but check yours. When you book, we suggest a pickup time from your address that allows for traffic. Our early flight guide has more on timing.
Being dropped off by friends instead
If a friend or relative is driving you, they can use the paid drop-off zone outside the terminal or the free drop-off area further out with a shuttle bus. The paid zone is quicker; the free one needs extra time for the bus. Either way, remember the airport road layout sends Terminal 3 traffic a different way to Terminal 2, so check the signs early.
Coming home through Terminal 3
Landing back at Terminal 3? Book the return at the same time as your outbound trip, with your flight number, and we track the flight. With meet & greet (£5), the driver waits in arrivals with a name board; with standard pick-up, you call them once you have your bags.
What it costs
The price is fixed when you book and shown before you pay. It is the same whether you fly from Terminal 2 or Terminal 3, child seats are free and there are no extras added on the day.
