Travelling with kids to Manchester Airport: car seat checklist
A tick-list for parents: what to tell us when you book, the free child and booster seats, and the bag that keeps the journey to the airport calm.
Checklist
Getting children to the airport is half the holiday. Work through this list a few days before you fly, then print the fridge list on this page and stick it up.

Which car for a family?
Two adults and two children with cases usually fit an estate car. Five or six of you, or lots of kit, need a people carrier. Read our guide to child car seats for the details on seats.
The seats we fit
We carry two kinds of seat. A forward facing child seat suits children from around 9 months to 4 years, and a booster seat suits children from about 4 to 12. Both are free; just add them when you book and give the children's ages. If you have a baby who needs a rear facing seat, bring your own infant carrier and tell us when you book.
At the airport
Keep the pushchair until the last moment: most airlines let you take it to the gate. If your children are tired on the way home, meet & greet (£5) means the driver meets you in arrivals and helps with bags while you look after the little ones.
The law, in short
The rules on child seats in licensed private hire cars are different from those in your own car. GOV.UK explains them, and our guide to child car seats in private hire sets out how we handle them. When in doubt, ask for a seat: they are free.
