Terms & Conditions
These terms set out the agreement between you and Findcab Ltd ("FindCab", "we", "us") when you book a journey with us on this website, by phone, by email or by WhatsApp. Please read them before you book. By making a booking you agree to them. They sit alongside our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, Cancellation & Refund Policy, Cookie Policy and booking policies.
1. About us
Findcab Ltd is a private hire operator licensed by Manchester City Council (operator licence number PO8017). We are a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15071512). Our address is 21 Dernford Avenue, Manchester M19 1DU. You can contact us on 0161 660 4006, at booking@findcab.uk for bookings, or at support@findcab.uk for anything else.
We arrange airport transfers, executive cars, minibuses and other private hire journeys. Every journey is carried out by a driver and vehicle that hold a private hire licence.
2. Making a booking
2.1 All journeys must be booked in advance. Online bookings need at least 8 hours' notice. For anything sooner please call us and we will help if we can.
2.2 A booking is a contract between you and us. It is only accepted when we send you a booking confirmation by email. If we cannot accept a booking, we will tell you and you will not be charged.
2.3 You must give us accurate details: the pickup and drop-off addresses, date and time, flight number for airport pickups, the number of passengers, luggage and any child seats or access needs, and a phone number we can reach you on during the journey. Check your confirmation and tell us straight away if anything is wrong.
2.4 If you book for someone else, you must have their permission to give us their details and make sure they know these terms.
2.5 You must be 18 or over to make a booking.
3. Prices
3.1 The price is fixed when you book for the journey, vehicle and extras shown on your confirmation. It will not change because of traffic or the route the driver takes.
3.2 The price can change only if the journey changes, as set out in sections 5, 7 and 13, for example extra stops, a new drop-off, waiting time or more luggage than the car you booked can carry.
3.3 Journeys on some dates and times cost more. These are shown in section 13 and are already included in the price you see when you book.
3.4 All prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies.
4. Payment
4.1 You pay online through our payment provider, Stripe, by debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. We do not take cash and drivers cannot take payment.
4.2 When you book, your card is checked and saved securely by Stripe. We normally charge it when your journey starts. For some bookings, for example long distance or large groups, we may charge it when you book instead. Your confirmation tells you which applies.
4.3 Any extra charges under these terms (such as waiting time, extra stops, soiling or a cancellation or no-show charge) are charged to the same saved card. We will tell you what they are for.
4.4 If your card cannot be charged, we will contact you and you must pay within 7 days. We may cancel a booking if we cannot take payment before the journey.
4.5 Monthly invoicing is only for business customers whose account we have approved in writing. Invoices are due within 30 days of the invoice date unless your account agreement says otherwise.
4.6 We never see or store your full card number. Stripe handles it under its own security rules.
5. Changing a booking
5.1 You can change the time, addresses, vehicle or passenger details online up to 8 hours before pickup. After that, please call us and we will change it if we can still cover the journey.
5.2 If a change alters the journey, we will give you the new price before we confirm it. We do not charge a fee to change a booking.
6. Cancellations and refunds
6.1 You can cancel online up to 2 hours before pickup, or by phone at any time before pickup. What you get back depends on how long before the pickup time you cancel:
- 24 hours or more before pickup: a full refund.
- Between 2 and 24 hours before pickup: a 50% refund.
- Less than 2 hours before pickup: no refund.
6.2 If your card is saved but not yet charged, we only charge the part that is not refunded. If we cancel your booking, you get a full refund.
6.3 Refunds go back to the card you paid with. We send them within 10 working days, and your bank may take a few more days to show them.
6.4 Full details are in our Cancellation & Refund Policy. This does not affect your legal rights. As our service is for a set date and time, the 14 day cooling-off period for distance contracts does not apply.
7. Waiting time and flight delays
7.1 For airport pickups, your driver waits 45 minutes free from the time your flight lands. For all other pickups, you get 10 minutes free from the booked pickup time.
7.2 After the free time, waiting is charged at £0.50 a minute.
7.3 If you give us your flight number, we track your flight and move your pickup to match if it lands early or late, at no extra cost. If your flight is delayed by more than 3 hours, or is diverted or cancelled, we will contact you to rearrange.
8. No-shows
8.1 If you are not at the pickup point and we cannot reach you, the driver may leave after 60 minutes at an airport (from landing) or 30 minutes at any other pickup.
8.2 A no-show is charged at 100% of the fare plus any waiting time. Please keep your phone switched on and tell us as soon as possible if you are running late.
9. Passengers, luggage and child seats
9.1 The number of passengers must not be more than the seats in the vehicle you booked. Babies and children count as passengers.
9.2 As a guide, each passenger can bring 1 large suitcase (up to 23kg) and 1 small bag. Tell us about golf bags, bikes, skis, pushchairs and other large items when you book. If luggage does not fit safely, the driver may refuse it, or you may need a bigger vehicle at the extra cost.
9.3 In a licensed private hire car the law lets children travel without a child seat: under 3s in the back, and children 3 and over using an adult seat belt. We still recommend a proper seat. We can fit up to 2 baby, child or booster seats per booking if you ask when you book. They are free.
10. Pets and assistance dogs
10.1 Assistance dogs always travel free, as the Equality Act 2010 requires. A driver can only refuse one if they hold a medical exemption certificate, and we will send another driver.
10.2 Other pets are welcome if you tell us when you book. They must travel in a carrier or on a lead with a blanket.
11. Smoking, alcohol and behaviour
11.1 Smoking is against the law in our vehicles. Vaping is not allowed either.
11.2 You may carry sealed alcohol, but please do not drink in the vehicle.
11.3 Our drivers can refuse or end a journey if a passenger is abusive, threatening or violent, is too drunk to travel safely, will not wear a seat belt, or asks the driver to break the law. In these cases the fare is not refunded. We will report crimes to the police.
12. Soiling and damage
12.1 If the vehicle needs cleaning after your journey, for example after sickness, food or drink spills, smoking or vaping, we charge a cleaning fee of £100 to cover the cleaning and the time the vehicle is off the road.
12.2 Damage caused by a passenger is charged at the cost of repair. We will send you photos and details before we charge.
13. Extra charges and surcharges
13.1 Extra stops, detours or a new drop-off you ask for on the day are charged at our normal mileage rate, plus £5 for each extra stop.
13.2 Tolls and parking you ask for are added at cost. Airport drop-off and pickup parking fees are included in the price unless your quote says otherwise.
13.3 Journeys on Christmas Eve after 6pm, Christmas Day and Boxing Day cost 50% more. Journeys on New Year's Eve after 6pm and New Year's Day cost 50% more. The price you see when you book already includes these.
14. Lost property
Please check you have all your belongings before you leave the vehicle. If you leave something behind, call or email us with your booking reference. We keep found items for 28 days. You can collect them or we can post them to you for the cost of delivery. Items not claimed after that are given to the police or to charity.
15. Accessibility
Folding wheelchairs and mobility aids travel free. If you need a wheelchair accessible vehicle, please book at least 24 hours ahead and tell us whether you will stay in your chair. Drivers will help with bags and getting in and out.
16. Delays and events outside our control
16.1 We plan every journey with time to spare, but we are not responsible for delays caused by traffic, accidents, weather, road closures or other events outside our control. Please allow enough time for check-in, security and connections.
16.2 If something outside our control means we cannot carry out your journey, we will tell you as soon as we can and refund what you have paid for it.
17. Our liability to you
17.1 We will carry out our service with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires.
17.2 If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses such as lost profit or missed meetings. If we fail to collect you, our liability is limited to the reasonable extra cost of getting you to your destination by another means, unless the law says otherwise.
17.3 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
17.4 We are not responsible for items left in a vehicle, but we will do our best to return them under section 14.
18. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, email support@findcab.uk or call 0161 660 4006 with your booking reference. We reply within 2 working days and aim to resolve your complaint within 10 working days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact Manchester City Council Licensing Unit, which licenses us.
19. Your personal data
We use your personal data as set out in our Privacy Policy.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your booking are the ones on this page when you made it.
21. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
